Host: “An idol who doesn’t smile.” Is that true?
Pi: No, it’s just that I don’t smile in photos. But of course I’ll smile if the cameraman says something funny. And I’ll smile and laugh when I’m talking to people. But when I’m looking seriously into the camera, i don’t know what kind of facial expression to have. I can’t go GRIN! I can’t force a smile.
Host: But that’s good too, it means that Yamapi’s smiles are real.

I love Jpop artists because they have imperfections. They do not change themselves to gain fame. We love them because they’re purely talented artists. Jpop artists gain popularity by simply showing their true selves. We love them for who they really are. We love them from the “inside” not just from “outside”
